The 2012 Logan County Fair Market Gilt and Market Barrow shows took place on Tuesday. A barrow is a young, castrated male hog and a gilt is a young female hog. Both barrows and gilts are raised for pork.

Brian McCoy judged both the Market Gilt and Market Barrow shows. McCoy is from the city of Washington Court House and attended Wilmington College. He works as a swine production supervisor for Pork Champ and is a 4-H instructor in Fayette county.
The awards were handed out to winners during the shows by Pig Queen Jordan Keckler and Pig Princess Megan Keckler.
Class winners in the Light Weight Division of the Market Gilt show were:

Grand Champion Market Gilt was awarded to Kyle Ackley (pictured right) and Reserve Grand Champion Market Gilt was award to John Zumberger. Both had been winners in the Heavy Weight Division. Ackley is 16 years old and will be a sophomore at Ben Logan this fall. He lives in East Liberty.

Heavy Weight Grand Champion was awarded to Reggie Regula. Aaliyah Speert took home Heavy Weight Reserve Grand Champion.
The 2 Heavy Weight Champions also won the overall Market Barrow show awards. Grand Champion Market Barrow went to Reggie Regula and Reserve Grand Champion Market Barrow went to Aaliyah Speert. Regula is from West Mansfield and is 13 years old. He will be an 8th grader at Ben Logan this year.

Grand Champion Snyder had a bet that if she won the Grand Champion award she would kiss her pig after the Scramble Pig Show. After winning, Snyder put on some bright red lipstick and gave her pig a smooch!
