Updated: 2012 Livestock Sale breaks record with T-Bone Steer (Audio included)

The 2012 Jr. Fair Livestock Friday Sale was a record-breaker with Tyler Myers’s Grand Champion T-Bone Steer (pictured left). Wendy's, National Salt, Steve Austin's Auto Group, Community Markets, Robinson Investments, Kroger, Liberty National Bank, and Citizens Federal Savings & Loan purchased the animal for $8,600. Myers, of Rushsylvania, says the money will go toward his college tuition.

Reserve Champion T-Bone Steer and Reserve Champion Born & Raised was shown by Kelsey Lininger (pictured right) of East Liberty. The steer sold for $3,700 and was purchased by Thompson, Dunlap, & Heydinger, ETO Contracting, Heiby Oil, Shoffstall Funeral Home, Quality Lawn Treatment, Huntington National Bank, Ackley Farms, Landtec, Curley's Custom Meats, Phenx Data Solutions, Bell Insurance, AG Boogher & Son, Ludlow Ag, Heritage Cooperative, Distinctive Building Systems, Mary Rutan Hospital, Elgin Service Center, Wilkins Hoof Trimming, Yeasel Farms, and Kroger. 

 

Grand Champion Born & Raised Steer presented by Kyle Knight (pictured left) of DeGraff. Kyle received $1,000 from  Farm Credit Services, Pioneer Seed Crop Insurance and Brian Hough Farms, Mary Rutan Hospital, Milroy Foundation and Heritage Co-Op. 

 

 

Grand Champion Dairy Steer shown by Adam Kavanagh (pictured right) of West Mansfield tallied $3,800 from Stevenson Self-Storage, Quest Federal Credit Union, and Stevenson Construction. 

 

 

 

 

Reserve Champion Dairy Steer presented by Hannah Gantz (pictured left), of West Liberty saw her steer bought by Double D Construction for $1,500. 

 

 

 

 

Grand Champion Dairy Beef Feeder led by Kristopher Ackley (pictured right) of East Liberty raised $2,600. AG Boogher & Son, Andy Mayer Farms, Jackson Collision, Country Auto, Joel and Lisa Snow, Maria Stein Grain Company, Heritage Cooperative, Farm Credit Services, Sloan Insurance, and TruPointe joined forces to make the purchase.

 

 

Reserve Champion Dairy Beef Feeder shown by Kyle Ackley (pictured left) of East Liberty sold for $1,600. AG Boogher & Son, Andy Mayer Farms, Jackson Collision, County Auto, Joel and Lisa Snow, Maria Stein Grain Company, and Sloan Insurance made the buy.

 

 

 

 

Grand Champion Rabbit Meat Pen raised by Grace Barger (pictured right) of Bellefontaine sold to Steve Austin's Auto Group, Citizens Federal Savings & Loan, National Salt Distributors, and Royer Realty for $1,000.

 

 

 

Reserve Champion Rabbit Meat Pen presented by Tori Miller (pictured left) of Zanesfield garnered $450 from West Ohio Tool.

 

 

 

 

Grand Champion Market Goat shown by Grace Barger (pictured right) of Bellefontaine sold for $2,000. Backdraft Productions, Family Court Judge Doug Chamberlain, Consolidated Grain, Heiby Oil Company, J & A Construction, MIG, Phenx Data Solutions, Yeasel Farms, Royer Realty, State Senator Cliff Hite, Thompson, Dunlap, & Heydinger, and Wish-Well Farms pooled funds for the purchase.

 

 

Reserve Champion Market Goat presented by Dennis Bleininger (pictured left) of Belle Center earned $900 from Backdraft Productions.
