The Hilliker YMCA Summer Day Camp Trailblazers (pictured) enjoyed a day on Indian Lake Thursday.
The campers explored the lake and Old Field Beach. Gerald Tussing educated the campers on the marsh at Old Field and the campers explored the area with nets and bug jars. Campers also got to play at the beach and take a nature hike.

“Old Field has so many fun things for the kids to do and the best part of all is there is no technology. The kids get to be in touch with nature and use their imaginations,” said Camp Director Jenny Wren.
The kids also got to take a two-hour pontoon ride courtesy of Jim and Roseann Reed, owners and operators of Spend-A-Day Marina in Russells Point. Staff Member Dick Huffer served as Pontoon Captain taking the campers to several highlights on the lake. The campers got to view the Dream Bridge, Lady of Fatima, Eagles Nest at Turkey Foot Island, and enjoyed ice cream at McDonald’s.
