The Logan County Township Association (pictured left) gathered to enjoy food, friends and family before its business meeting Thursday evening at Longview Cove in Russells Point.
Vic’s Country Cookin’ catered the picnic where trustees’ and county officials’ family members were welcome. After the meal, the Indian Lake Fire Department gave demonstrations on their rescue equipment. An ambulance with rescue diving equipment, a rescue airboat and a pontoon boat were on-site for trustees, officials and their guests to check out.
Members of the fire department addressed questions on how the equipment worked and which were used for certain emergency situations.

A meeting followed the demonstration where trustees and county officials shared updates from each of their townships or departments.
One of the topics discussed was the response to June’s severe thunderstorm and the damage it did to the county courthouse. Logan County Township Association President Dave Miracle says he thinks the meeting went smoothly.

Another issue brought up was the rash of car break-ins in the county. Miracle says it’s a shame too see this increase in crime in the area.
“They have to prioritize what they look at and take care of, and it’s a shame that we have to do that and we can’t handle everything,” Miracle said.
Sheriff Smith says it’s important to keep your doors and windows closed and locked.
