Hi Point Women's Center Hosts 5k (Audio included)

The annual 5k Run for Their Lives was Saturday at Blue Jacket Park. The running event is put on by the Hi Point Women's Center of Logan County. About 150 runners/walkers attended the event that took participants around eastern Bellefontaine and finished on the track at Dodd Stadium.

Proceeds from the run benefit the Hi Point Women's Center of Logan County. The center is located at 110 N. Detroit Street in Bellefontaine. It is temporarily closed because of the recent storms that ripped through our area caused severe damage to the building. At this time it is unknown how long the repairs will take. Opening a temporary location is being discussed. The plan is to reopen at a temporary site within the next two weeks. As for now, you can contact them through their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/hipointwomenscenter or call them at 592-7734.

Listen to Hi-Point Women's Center Executive Director April Staton discuss the race and the agency trying to recover from last month's wind storm.
