Man picked up after causing disturbance at Waffle House

The Bellefontaine Police Department responded to Waffle House at 1133 N. Main St. after receiving a call about a disturbance at the restaurant shortly before 3 a.m.

Police say Lucas N. Bender (pictured), 31, of 4000 Alpine Parkway, Lot D3, Zanesfield, began yelling and threw a plate of food after becoming angry over his food order. Bender was swearing at employees when he grew increasingly agitated and threw the plate.

When Bellefontaine Police arrived, Bender had left the Waffle House. Employees of the restaurant described what they witnessed to officers.

Police later located Bender at the Bellefontaine Inn. Officers discovered there was a warrant out for Bender’s arrest, and Bender was taken into custody on a previous criminal damage charge.

Bender is currently lodged in the Logan County Jail.
