Two men are under arrest after attempting to flee a Bellefontaine Police Officer shortly after 11 o’ clock Thursday morning.
The officer was on patrol near the 900 block of S. Main St. when he recognized two of three men from previous encounters on bicycles. The two men had warrants out for their arrests.
Shaun A. Anderson (pictured left), 24, at-large, was wanted for a failure-to-appear from previous OVI charges. Andrew S. Herford (pictured right), 19, at-large, had a warrant out for a felony breaking-and-entering charge.
The officer called out to Anderson and asked to speak with him. That’s when the two men split up and fled from the officer.
While the officer pursued Anderson in his patrol car, he radioed other officers to alert them that Herford fled in the direction of his girlfriend’s residence.
Anderson was captured in the 600 block of S. Madriver St. and taken into custody by the officer who pursued him. Two other officers arrested Herford at his girlfriend’s residence.
Both men were transported to the Logan County Jail.
