Russells Point Mayor Robin Reames praised the community following a water main break over the weekend.
During a council meeting Monday, Reames said the only customer without water was the municipal building and the water towers’ levels were low following the break. She added that because of residents’ conservation of water, the village’s levels will be back to normal by Tuesday morning. By 5 pm Monday, the towers had reached 95 percent of the desired level.

Council adopted an emergency ordinance during the meeting. The ordinance approves a change in police appropriations. The police force was granted $1,500 to purchase a decibel meter because Russells Point passed a noise ordinance into law recently. The Russells Point Police Department is buying a decibel meter similar to the one used by the Bellefontaine Police Department. The purchase will insure that the police department can enforce the ordinance.

Council also scheduled two public committee meetings. The Rules and Ordinance Committee will be meeting to discuss the signs ordinance on August 13th at 7 pm. The Records Retention Committee will be meeting on August 20th at 6:30 pm.
Russells Point Council will meet again on August 20th at 7 pm.
