In what is becoming a tradition in western Logan County, a “free” sale for the Riverside community will be conducted at the DeGraff United Methodist Church, 1839 County Road 24, on Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.
Organizers of the annual event accept donations of good and serviceable used clothing, shoes, household items and, especially, school supplies and donations can be made up until Friday, then on Saturday, the “free” sale opens for business. The idea is to make warm, attractive clothing and school supplies available the families of children to those who otherwise may not have the means to purchase those items themselves.
Organizers ask that those who show up to browse and pick up some of the items be residents of the Riverside School District.
Hot dogs and drinks will be supplied at the free sale. Those wishing to donate to the free sale as asked to call DeGraff UMC at 585-5511.
