The City of Urbana Council adopted a resolution during a meeting Tuesday.
The resolution is an agreement between council, the Champaign County YMCA, and Urbana City Schools to acquire 5.98 acres of land to uses as a storm water retention pond. The agreement also authorized the land for future development.
A contract was granted to Wagner Paving, Inc. for street resurfacing. The contract for $59,582.70 will be used to resurface bad sections on three streets. The affect streets will be Rohrer from Miami Street to West Ward, Fyffe from Main to Orange Street, and Gwynne from Oakland Street to Poplar. Work is expected to take place from September 1st to October 31st.

A unit price contract with North American Salt Company was authorized. For the 2012-2013 Winter, Urbana will pay $64.36 per ton of salt. Urbana spent $66.02 per ton on salt last year.
Council approved a $5,813 purchase order for general cleaning and detailed floor work in the common areas and restrooms of the Municipal Building. It would regulate cleaning and would not affect individual office spaces.
