A Bellefontaine man was found guilty on several felony sex charges in a two-day trial that concluded Wednesday afternoon in Logan County Common Pleas Court.
Terry Jones (pictured), 44, of 809 Heritage Court, Apt. 32, was found guilty of two counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition involving a North Lewisburg area girl under the age of 13.
A jury of two women and ten men deliberated for about two hours before reaching a verdict.
Jones was charged with rape in November, culminating a seven-week investigation by local authorities.
The girl’s family contacted the Bellefontaine Police Department on September 13th.
Logan County Children’s Services assisted with the investigation.
In December, Jones was indicted for two counts of rape (F1), two counts of gross sexual imposition (F3), and a single count of importuning (F3).
Jones will be sentenced on September 24th. He faces up to life in prison.
The trial was held in Bellefontaine City Council Chambers. The Logan County Courthouse is closed for the next several months after receiving damage from the June 29th windstorm.
