Two local teens were arrested after they stole a pair of bicycles from
a city residence Saturday morning.
Eric Brown (pictured left), 19, of 548 Woodland Drive, Bellefontaine, and Matthew Bugg (pictured right), 19, of 5146 County Road 152, East Liberty, allegedly took bicycles from 316 Ludlow Road.
The Bellefontaine Police Department spotted the bikes behind C&J Laundry, 1405 South Main Street, Saturday morning around 7:45.
About 20 minutes later, an officer saw Brown and Bugg walking in the 800 block of South Main Street.
The teens said they had permission to take the bikes, but parked them at the laundry because it was too cold to ride.
The victim, Eric Howe, said he did not give Brown and Bugg permission to take the bikes.
Moments later, Brown and Bugg admitted they did not have permission.
Both teens were charged with theft and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
The stolen bikes were returned to 316 Ludlow.
