Bellefontaine's Homecoming festivities will take place this weekend.
The Homecoming Parade will be on Thursday. Fall sports teams, clubs, the BHS Marching Band, and various other activities will participate in the parade. Bellefontaine's Homecoming Court will also ride in cars through the parade.
Following the parade, Bellefontaine's band will perform Script Chiefs and a ceremony for the Court. A bonfire will follow the ceremony.
Bellefontaine's Homecoming Court this year includes Senior Queen Candidate Julia Hunt (left), Freshman Attendant Bailey Smith, Senior Queen Candidate Emma Earick, Sophomore Attendant Kenzie Brunswick, Junior Attendant Olivia Martin, and Senior Queen Candidate Regan Price (right).
The Queen will be announced during Pregame at Friday night's football game. She will be crowned by 2011 Queen Morgan Henry.
As a special Homecoming treat, the Marching Band will perform Script Chiefs during pregame again.
The Chiefs will be playing Kenton Ridge at Dodd Stadium.
On Friday, Bellefontaine students will have a pep rally to get everybody excited for the football game.
The Homecoming dance will take place Saturday evening at Bellefontaine High School. The Court will again be announced.
Students are chosen for the Court by first being nominated by their class. The top few vote-getters are then placed on a ballot. Students in each class can vote for their class's attendant. All grades can vote for Queen. The winner is then selected to be on the Homecoming Court.
Students cannot be chosen more than once during high school, with the exception of being selected a second time as a Queen Candidate.
Listen to Emma Earick talk about her experience on the Court for the second time.
Listen to Olivia Martin tell about the Homecoming festivities.
