West Liberty approves Town Hall Renovation Agreement (Audio included)

An agreement that has highlighted West Liberty Council meetings for months was passed Monday.

Council approved the Town Hall Renovation agreement with the West Liberty Historical Society to allow the organization to begin work on town hall. The renovations include installing heating and cooling ventilation and refurbishing the second-story opera house. The project will move some of the fire department’s grass trucks to a building next to town hall. The renovations are expected to be complete by 2017 for West Liberty's Bicentennial.

Council expressed their thanks to the people that aided the Town Hall Renovation agreement process. Attorneys Chris Moell and Phil Moots were thanked for developing the agreement and Grayson Atha, Donna Lou Erwin, and the West Liberty Historical Society were thanked for their help and dedication to the project.

Mayor Greg Hostetler comments on the agreement and project.

Council looked at five medical insurance options for village employees. Council selected the Anthem Premium Saver Plan. The medical plan would save the village on the premium cost and save village employees on their deductible.

Council member and finance committee member Larry Lance discusses council’s choice.

The Village of West Liberty Council will meet again on October 22nd at 7:30 pm.
