Area FFA chapters show appreciation to administrators and guest (Audio and Video included)

Area FFA chapters held the 2012 Logan County Agricultural Education Administrators Appreciation Dinner at Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Wednesday.

FFA chapters from Benjamin Logan, Indian Lake, Ohio Hi-Point Career Center, and Riverside showed their appreciation to their school administrators and special guests at the banquet.

Two special guests were honored with the Community Support Award.

President and Owner of WPKO/WBLL Lou Vito received the award. He was thanked for his support of Logan County agriculture and FFA chapters for over 25 years. He has also been a master of ceremonies for the Logan County King & Queen Jr. Fair. WPKO/WBLL Operations Manager Chad Wilkinson accepted the award on behalf of Vito.

Bellefontaine Examiner Editor Miriam Baier also received the award for her support of the Logan County Fair and promoting all of the Logan County agricultural education programs. The FFA thanked her for sending the Examiner's staff to cover events.

Other special guest included Bob Stoll, Logan County Soil and Water District, and Annie Davis, The Ohio State University Extension Education Specialist serving Logan County.

Benjamin Logan senior FFA member and District 6 Reporter Katelyn Ackley spoke about the importance of administrators to the FFA. She compared the FFA to a pizza saying that all the members and officers of the FFA are like the ingredients to the pizza and the administrators are the pizza delivery guy, who delivers the product to the world.

Ackley explains the metaphor.

The Ohio Hi-Point FFA will host the Benjamin Logan 2nd grade Career Technical Tour Thursday. The event will allow the students to learn about the career center and what it can do for them in the future. The students will have an opportunity to build a recipe holder, visit a petting zoo, and learn how to use microscopes.

Hi-Point Animal Science & Technology Instructor Robin Curley comments on the banquet and Thursdays events.
