This is the Court's first return to Logan County since 2006.
The Court of Appeals Judges heard oral arguments from two actual appellate cases from Logan and Marion counties.
The Logan County case was State of Ohio v. Douglas L. Risner, Jr.
The Marion County case was Marion Forum, LLC v. Lynick Enterprises, Inc., et al.
The cases consisted of arguments from the two lawyers. Each argument could last a maximum of 15 minutes.
There are four Judges on the Court, but they sit in panels of three. For this session, Judge Stephen Shaw, Judge Vernon Preston, and Judge John Willamowski heard the oral arguments. The fourth Judge on the Court is Judge Richard Rogers.
Following the cases, students were given the opportunity to ask the Judges and lawyers questions.
