A convicted sex offender wanted for failing to register with authorities turned himself in at the Logan County Sheriff's Office Wednesday night around nine o'clock.
David Shaffer (pictured), 34, of 269 Grove Avenue, Lakeview, was arrested on a felony count of failure to register.
The sheriff's office and a deputy US Marshal had been searching for Shaffer since last week.
He was convicted of attempted statutory rape of a 14-year-old female in West Virginia in 1999.
