Final numbers were reported for the Logan County Board of DD Chicken Barbeque Thursday.
At the October meeting, Superintendent Saul Bauer reported that the board of DD made $9,034.33 from its 25th annual barbeque. Over 1,000 deliveries were filled just during the lunch hour on October 4th. In total, the board of DD sold over 3,000 chickens. Bauer expressed his gratitude to the volunteers and community.
The budget was discussed during the meeting. Bauer reported that the board of DD is projected to finish 2012 with a positive budget. He also explained that over the next few years the organization will continue to see a decrease in the tangible personal property tax equaling a loss of nearly $100,000 per year through 2019. The board is seeing a 24 percent decrease in state revenue and a 60 percent increase in federal revenue. Bauer also noted that the board of DD has seen a 15 percent decrease in salaries since 2010.
The board of DD will be switching from an HSA healthcare plan to a combined HSA/HRA plan in 2013. The change will increase the deductible from $3,000/$6,000 to $5,000/$10,000 and there will be no change to the employees' out-of-pocket cost. If the board stayed with its current plan, the cost of healthcare by 2020 would exceed the salaries of all the board of DD’s employees.
Superintendent Saul Bauer discusses the budget, healthcare change, and barbeque.
The Logan County Board of DD will meet again on November 15th at 5:30 pm.
