A gift from the Mary Rutan Hospital Foundation has allowed the Hilliker Y to purchase five new machines along with a new CYBEX Power Cage for the Powerlifter.
The new equipment includes: (2) 770 AT Cybex Arc Trainers, (2) 770 T Cybex Treadmills and (1) Marpo VLT Rope Climber. (Pictured, in order, from top to bottom)
An open house is scheduled for October 29th from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. during which time members and their guests are invited to see a demonstration of the equipment and to try it.
A ribbon cutting ceremony with representatives from the Mary Rutan Foundation and the Hilliker Y will take place at 4:00 p.m. on that day.
The ARC Trainer allows the user to train for power, strength and weight loss ALL on one machine. Unlike other cross trainers the ARC trainer has a pattern of motion that allows the hip and knee to move synchronously while the foot stays under the knee reducing joint pains and providing a more comfortable workout. The Hilliker YMCA is the only facility in Logan County to have an ARC Trainer.
The CYBEX 770 T is a completely new treadmill that incorporates ARMZ-stabilizers that reach out beyond conventional support bars to provide an added level of safety. The deck is soft at landing, firm in the middle, and rigid at toe-off to precisely match the body mechanics of running. So runners will experience a smooth, comfortable ride with minimal stress, impact, and shock.
The Free Weights Power Cage features twenty racking positions spaced 4 inches or 10 centimeters apart; adjustable bar stops with UHMW frame protectors, a standard pull-up bar and much more.
The Marpo VLT Rope Climber will complete the new additions to the Wellness Center. The rope climber allows for cardio through upper body movements and strength even for members who are disabled.
