Vigil held to remember Austin Houser (Audio included)

Inclement weather could not keep a crowd from gathering at a vigil to remember a local teenager who died Thursday.

The vigil was held at Veteran's Park in West Mansfield to remember Austin Houser, 15, of Rushsylvania, who died from a pedestrian/automobile accident along State Route 274.

Patience Gamble organized the vigil. She said that Austin was an amazing person, a loyal friend, and a great guy.

The vigil gave many an opportunity to tell their stories about Austin. Many spoke of him as a great person and a loyal friend who was taken too soon.

A poster (pictured right) was available for people to sign to for Austin.

Both Gamble and Ellenna Houser, Austin's mother, expressed their thanks to the community for their support.

Gamble talks about planning the vigil.

Calling hours are Thursday from 4 to 8 pm.

Houser will be laid to rest in the Huntsville Cemetery.
