An area deputy assisting at a crash scene was struck by a van in western Shelby County Wednesday morning around 6:40.
Shelby County Deputy Jason Seger (pictured), who was on his way to work, stopped to help with a property damage accident at the intersection of State Route 47 and Dawson Road.
Seger was hit by an eastbound vehicle that was unrelated to the first accident.
Sheriff John Lenhart reports that Seger was transported to Wilson Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. He was then transferred to Miami Valley Hospital.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office Reconstruction Team, State Highway Patrol, Ft. Loramie Police Department, and Ft. Loramie Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
