Doug Zimmerman (pictured), President and Broker/Manager of Zimmerman Realty in Bellefontaine was recently awarded the prestigious 2012 Broker of the Year by the Midwestern Ohio Association of Realtors. This award is given to a broker in recognition of contribution and leadership abilities to the real estate industry, community, agents, and company.
Zimmerman served as president of the regional Miami Valley Association of Real Estate Boards in 1995, chairman of the Logan County Board of Realtors in 1995, and elected Logan County Realtor of the Year in '95. He also served as an Ohio Association of Realtors state trustee in '94 and '95 and was a member of the Professional Standards committee, Long Range Planning committee, and the Miami Valley Association of Real Estate Boards Board of Directors between '94 and '95.
Doug's outstanding annual sales production has been recognized by the Ohio Association of Realtors Presidents Sales Club for the past several years.
Zimmerman's professional/educational background includes a Graduate of Real Estate Institute designation in 1987, a Broker's license obtained in 1988 from Hondros Career Center of Columbus, and a Sales Associate license from Ohio School of Real Estate of Ohio State University in 1983. Following his graduation from Benjamin Logan in 1974, Doug studied agricultural science at Purdue University. He practiced crop and animal farming in Belle Center until 1987.
Doug has been actively involved in community service organizations, serving on the Mary Rutan Hospital Board and the Bellefontaine City Planning Commission. He was the United Way Campaign Chairman and Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce Chairman. He has been a member of the Downtown Revitilization Committee and is a member of the Bellefontaine Elks Lodge 132. Zimmerman also served at the regional and state levels of the Huntington Bank and former Ohio Bank. He attends the Huntsville United Methodist Church.
