Kiwanis Club learns more about transportation museum

Logan County Historical Society Curator/Director Todd McCormick (pictured) was the featured speaker at the Bellefontaine Kiwanis Club meeting Thursday afternoon.

McCormick spoke about the Logan County Historical Society and the groundbreaking for the Transportation Museum set for Friday at 3:30 p.m. Construction is expected to last about a year with a grand opening planned for late 2014. Several companies have donated items and money to the project.

The society has a buggy from the late 1800s that needs to be restored, but the cost is very high. The historical society is also looking for a buggy made by one of the companies from Bellefontaine.

The Kiwanis Club also had a moment of silence for long-time member Don Gumpert and honored Dustin Wickersham for his service as president last year.

Kiwanians meet every Thursday at noon at the Elks Building on North Main Street.
