Two city residents were arrested on felony charges after a video
camera proved they stole multiple items from an apartment.
Stephen Coe (pictured left), 22, of 716 North Detroit Street, and Amanda Thompson (pictured right), 25, of 1032 Heritage Court, allegedly broke into 555 Newell Street, Apt. 40, Monday.
The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that Austin Moore, 20, and Chad Sims, 21, live at the apartment.
Coe was hanging out with Sims Monday afternoon.
Moore told police that he was concerned about Coe stealing, which prompted him to set up the camera before he left for work around 2:45.
Sims then left for work around 3:00.
Moore returned home early Tuesday morning and noticed that his X-Box video game player and several games were stolen.
An X-Box video game player and a laptop computer owned by Sims were also missing.
The camera showed Coe and a female taking the items.
Coe was arrested around three a.m. and Thompson was taken into custody around 4:30 a.m.
Both of them were charged with burglary and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
All of the stolen items were recovered.
