A county man was charged after he allegedly tried to remove wood from a house near DeGraff Wednesday afternoon around 2:30.
Tim Levan, 54, of 5400 County Road 153, Zanesfield, thought the house in the 500 block of State Route 235 South was abandoned.
The owner saw Levan on the property with a ladder and a hammer, then contacted the Logan Sheriff's Office.
Levan told deputies that his intentions were to refinish the wood.
He was issued summons for criminal trespass and criminal mischief.
