A city man was arrested following a two-vehicle crash downtown at the intersection of Main Street and Columbus Avenue Saturday afternoon around 1:20.
The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that William England IV, 27, of 117 West Brown Avenue, Apt. 2, was driving a '99 Pontiac Grand Am southbound in the 100 block of North Main when he rear-ended an '01 Ford Explorer driven by Beverly Wolf, 50, of 242 East State Street, West Mansfield.
Moments after the wreck, Wolf suspected England was drunk. She shook hands with him and took his car key.
Wolf then went into 600 Downtown, 108 South Main Street, and called police.
Authorities found England inside the restaurant.
He was charged with OVI and driving an unsafe vehicle. The brakes on his car did not work.
England's blood alcohol level was .210.
He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
No one was injured and neither vehicle was damaged.
