The Ridgemont Board of Education met in regular session Thursday night.
The district recently sent out the first of many newsletters created by students to keep residents informed on the K-12 building project in Mt. Victory. The next community update meeting will be held January 10th in the high school library at 6:30 p.m. The district will share more about design plans and the timeline.
Ridgemont is preparing to host its 8th Annual Christmas Luncheon for the senior residents of the district. With the help of a grant from the Kenton Walmart, the school is able to provide a hot meal to over 100 guests, showcase student talent, and kick-off the district's Christmas festivities. The luncheon will be Thursday, December 6th.
Several personnel issues were approved including the hiring of custodians along with internal transfers of aides and a supplemental position. The board approved the usage of substitute teachers approved by Logan and Auglaize County educational service centers and the subs employed through the Hardin County ESC. Vacation days were restored to classified 260-day contract employees after the dissolution of the OAPSE union.
Award-winning teacher Stephanie Jolliff and junior Bailey Wagner will be attending the State Farm regional training program called Youth in the Driver Seat in Atlanta December 9-12. The board is excited to have a staff member and a student receiving such recognition.
The Ridgemont Board will meet again on Thursday, December 13th at five p.m. in the high school library.
