Local residents crowded into downtown Bellefontaine Saturday morning to welcome the arrival of Santa Claus in the annual parade to kick off the Christmas season.
A large turnout was encouraged by unseasonably mild temperatures as over 30 entrants participated in the parade and marching bands from Bellefontaine, Benjamin Logan, and Riverside high schools entertained watchers with festive holiday tunes.
The Grand Marshal of the parade was Jon James of James Floors and Interiors of Bellefontaine.
Santa arrived on the National Salt float.
The parade was broadcast live on 98.3 WPKO
