The Christmas spirit is alive in Logan County.
An unnamed man walked into Bellefontaine Walmart, 2281 South Main Street, Friday morning and gave a layaway clerk $30,000.
The anonymous donation paid off hundreds of layaway accounts.
Many customers discovered the good news Friday afternoon and evening. Several of them were seen crying in the store.
Ellen Conley of DeGraff was thankful that the donation covered her $43 bill. She said another family's $600 bill was completely covered.

The layaway department is still tallying how many families were impacted. The associate estimates that 200-300 layaway accounts were paid off.
The employee said the kind act has caused a chain reaction.
Several of the customers that benefitted from the donation decided to anonymously pay for other layaway accounts.
