Three city residents were arrested Monday afternoon after they
allegedly stole multiple items from a residence west of Bellefontaine earlier in the day.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office responded to a theft complaint at 2337 State Route 47 West around 12:30.
About an hour later, John Corey (pictured left), 52, Amber Corey (pictured right), 25, and Jacob Gayman (pictured below), 26, were taken into custody following a traffic stop by the Bellefontaine Police Department in the 300 block of Walnut Street.
Officers made the stop because the car matched the description of the suspects' vehicle.
The suspects were wanted for stealing baseboard heaters, register vents, and door knobs from the Route 47 home.
John Corey was charged with theft and wrongful entrustment, Amber Corey was charged with theft, and Gayman was charged with theft, criminal damaging, and no operator's license.
The Coreys and Gayman live at 433 Walker Street.
All three of them were lodged in the Logan County Jail.
The stolen items were sold at D & J Scrap Metals, 621 Plumvalley Street, Bellefontaine, moments before the traffic stop.
