A city man suffered minor injuries after he was clipped by a semi while walking home from the Logan County Jail Tuesday night around 11:45.
The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that Dane Brown, 30, of 313 South Park Street, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a dispute with his girlfriend, Jessica Anderson.
Officers responded to Consolidated Care on Maple Avenue around three o'clock. Brown told police that Anderson threatened to kill herself and her three children if he didn’t come home.
Brown then met with a counselor at Consolidated Care.
Anderson, who repeated the threats to police, volunteered to seek help at Mary Rutan Hospital.
After Brown went to the hospital to talk to Anderson, he was ordered to leave.
Brown then returned home. Police responded after he called a crisis helpline and threatened to kill himself with a knife.
He was charged with persistent disorderly conduct and lodged in the jail.
A few hours later, Brown was walking in the eastbound lane of West Sandusky Avenue with his back to traffic when an eastbound 2006 semi driven by Jeffrey Sorgen, 53, of Kenton, hit him.
Sorgen told police that he did not see Brown until the last moment.
The semi mirror clipped Brown in the arm. He was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS.
Brown, who was wearing black coveralls, a black shirt, and a white hat, was cited for walking in the roadway.
Sorgen was not cited.
