Green Hills leader named chair-elect of statewide association

Mike Ray (pictured), President/CEO of Green Hills Community of West Liberty, was recently named chair-elect for LeadingAge Ohio Board of Trustees. He has been on the board since 2009.

As a board member, he assists in establishing policy as well as helping monitor the overall performance of the statewide association. As chair-elect, he is in line to become chair of the association in 2014 and assumes leadership of board meetings and other business of the board in the absence of the chair. He also chairs the Chief Financial Officer Special Interest Group and is a member of the LeadingAge Ohio Budget & Finance and Advocacy Committees.

Mr. Ray was named President and CEO of Green Hills Community in 2008; previously, he served Green Hills as administrator from 1997 until his current appointment. He holds a B.S. from The Ohio State University and is a Certified Public Accountant as well as a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.

“With an increasing population of older and disabled Ohioans, it is especially critical that quality services are available to meet housing, health, and service needs,” Mr. Ray said. “In spite of many challenges facing all providers of senior services, there are tremendous opportunities to innovatively meet the needs of one of our most vulnerable populations. I look forward to working with my peers to meet these needs while sharing the great work of Ohio’s not-for-profit providers of senior services.”

Founded in 1937, LeadingAge Ohio, formerly known as AOPHA, is a not-for-profit association representing approximately 400 not-for-profit senior service organizations located in more than 150 Ohio towns and cities, as well as those providing ancillary health care and housing services. Members are sponsored by religious, fraternal, labor, private, and government organizations committed to providing quality services for their residents and for older persons in the community at large. LeadingAge Ohio is affiliated with LeadingAge, the Washington, D.C.-based national organization and other state and regional affiliates throughout the United States.

Mr. Ray resides in Urbana.
