State Patrol stressing winter safety

The State Highway Patrol is urging drivers to make safety their first priority this winter.

Lieutenant Ron Raines, commander of the Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol, encourages you to allow extra time to get to your destination, reduce your speed, and maintain a safe distance between your vehicle and traffic ahead.

Be aware that bridges and overpasses are prone to freezing and becoming slippery prior to other roadway surfaces.

You can always call #677 for assistance and the call will be directed to the nearest patrol post.

You can reach the local post at 644-8348.

There were a few slideoffs on Route 33 west of Route 68 Christmas morning around 8:30.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office says no one was injured.

The State Highway Patrol responded to a rollover injury accident on State Route 47 between County Road 9 and County Road 25 Christmas morning around 9:45.

Tri-Valley EMS assisted at the scene.

Troopers continue their investigation.
