Longtime Logan County Recorder Linda Hanson (pictured) has announced that she will retire at the end of the month.
Hanson, who's been the county recorder for 12 years, said family health concerns and pending changes to the state retirement system spurred her decision.
She has been with the downtown office for 27 years.
Hanson was just re-elected in November.
The Logan County Commissioners named Pat Myers the interim county recorder.
The Republican Central Committee will appoint a permanent county recorder.
Several elected officials in Ohio have retired this year to make sure they receive an annual three percent cost of living increase during their retirement.
