The 2012 Christmas season saw a generous gift given at a local store.
On December 7th, an unnamed man walked into the Bellefontaine Walmart, at 2281 South Main Street, and gave a layaway clerk $30,000.
The anonymous donation paid over 200 layaway accounts.
Many customers discovered the good news that following afternoon and evening. Several of them were seen crying in the store.
Ellen Conley, of DeGraff, was thankful that the donation covered her $43 bill. She said another family's $600 bill was completely covered.
Conley reacts to the unexpected act of generosity.
An employee said the kind act has caused a chain reaction.
Walmart Spokesperson Matt O’Halloran comments on the act of kindness.
Several of the customers that benefitted from the donation decided to anonymously pay for other layaway accounts.
