Local entrepreneur and developer Jason Duff is taking on the Wingers Property in Bellefontaine as his latest project.
The property is the former home of the sports bar and restaurant called Wingers. The building is located at 1125 S. Main St.
The property was purchased at an auction for $160,000 and was financed by his grandfather, James E. Duff. It is currently for sale or lease.
“It is my hope that we can position the property so it’s as easy as possible for a new operator to lease or purchase it,” Duff said.
Duff says one of the greatest features of the property is that it is nearly turn-key. All of the personal property including kitchen equipment, plates, and silverware are available and come with the property.
“I am pretty confident that Bellefontaine is capable of supporting a new American style bar and restaurant, but instead of me deciding that, I am interested in asking the community what they want and committed to working hard to meet those needs,” Duff said.
Duff has created a website www.newplaceintown.com where area residents can share their thoughts, ideas, and interest concerning the property.
“This is a social experiment in economic development. This website is a way we can utilize the collective support of the community leveraging Facebook, Twitter, and our online contacts to recruit new businesses to our area,” Duff said.
