Two local teens were injured in a one-vehicle accident on State Route 245 about two miles east of West Liberty Monday afternoon around 5:30.
The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that Ethan McBean, 16, of 404 McClellan Street, West Liberty, was driving a '99 Honda Civic westbound on 245 when he failed to negotiate a curve, then went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
McBean and passenger Trent Thomas, 16, of 344 Apple Road, St. Paris, were transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Macochee Joint Ambulance District.
Both boys were wearing their seat belts.
McBean was cited for failure to control.
The Civic suffered heavy damage.
