The Logan County Fair Board discussed a change to beef tagging during its January Meeting Wednesday.
The location of the tagging has been moved from Jackson Livestock in DeGraff to the Logan County Fairgrounds. The change was made because only a third of the beef cattle and dairy steers were being weighed for rate-of-gain. Beef tagging takes place on the second Saturday of December.
A possibility for a silent auction for rabbits was contemplated. Currently the fair does not have an open class competition for rabbits. If a silent auction becomes possible an open class competition would be held. After the competition, if an exhibitor desired to sell their rabbit it would be done by silent auction rather than by auctioneer auction.
Also, Sponsorship ideas were sent to committee to decide what kind of sponsorships to offer local businesses.
Fair Board President Skip Jackson discusses the sponsorship ideas and the meeting.
The Logan County Fair Board will meet again on February 13th at 7:30 pm.
