Benjamin Zoldak from Rushsylvania will be riding in the Presidential Inaugural Parade on Monday, Jan. 21, as a member of the Culver Military Academy Black Horse Troop.
Zoldak is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Zoldak.
The 58-member boys mounted unit will be riding with 24 members of the Culver Girls Academy Equestriennes. This will be the sixteenth inaugural parade for the Black Horse Troop and the seventh for the Equestriennes.
The Inaugural Parade marks the 100 anniversary of the Black Horse Troop’s first ride down Pennsylvania Avenue. The mounted unit served as the official escort for Vice President Thomas Marshall during Woodrow Wilson’s inaugural parades in 1913 and 1917. Marshall was the former governor of Indiana.
The parade will be televised live. Uninterrupted coverage will be broadcast on C-SPAN. More details about Culver’s inaugural activities are available at www.culver.org/parade.
