The Simon Kenton Pathfinders received a $10,000 check from the DuPont Pioneer Given Program to apply toward the extension of the Simon Kenton Bike Trail from Urbana to Bellefontaine.
Kevin Forrest, representing DuPont Pioneer, presented the check to Pathfinders' president Nancy Lokai-Baldwin during a recent ceremony. Pictured left are, from left to right, Pathfinders members Carmen Scott, SKP Treasurer Betsy Bohl, Mrs. Lokai-Baldwin, Mr. Forrest, Bellefontaine Mayor Adam Brannon, and Doug Chivington.
Over the past two years, the Pathfinders have urged residents throughout Logan and Champaign counties to extend the multi-use trail from Urbana north 16 miles to connect Urbana, West Liberty, and Bellefontaine. This has resulted in the City of Bellefontaine and the Pathfinders to apply for and receive a $500,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Those interested in contributing to the fund may send their donations to Simon Kenton Pathfinders, PO Box 91, Urbana, OH 43078.
