A local man was charged with assault following a two-vehicle crash on State Route 235 near DeGraff Saturday night around 9:15.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that Mario Castallante III, 22, of 205 South Main Street, DeGraff, was riding in a southbound 2005 Honda Pilot driven by Kayla Newman, 21, of 102 Canby Street, Quincy.
Deputies report that Darrell Hughes, 46, of 21528 Tawawa Street, Sidney, was driving a 2008 Chevy Cobalt behind Newman.
As Hughes was passing the Honda, he quickly cut in front of Newman because of oncoming traffic.
Newman then flashed her brights and Hughes pushed on his brakes to let her pass.
After Newman struck the rear of Hughes' vehicle an argument ensued.
Castallante allegedly shoved Hughes and returned to the vehicle.
He was issued a summons for assault.
Newman was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance.
Hughes was cited for improper passing.
Both vehicles suffered minor damage.
All three occupants were wearing their seat belts.
No one was injured.
