A local driver was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Route 33 near Huntsville early Monday morning.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office responded to a wreck on 33 near County Road 37 just after four a.m.
Amanda Smith, 32, of 4000 Alpine Parkway, Lot B2, Zanesfield, was driving a 2001 Honda CR-V westbound on 33 when she went off the right of the road and struck an embankment, then went across 37 and hit a stop sign. The vehicle finally came to rest after striking another embankment.
Deputies believe that alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Smith, who was found asleep at the wheel, was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Huntsville EMS.
She was wearing her seat belt.
The SUV suffered heavy damage.
Charges are pending; the accident remains under investigation.
