Authorities were forced to put down an injured calf found in a ditch near the eastbound lanes of Route 33 Sunday morning around ten o'clock.
The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol responded after several passersby reported the incident on 33 near the Logan/Union county line. The 300 lb calf had a broken leg.
Troopers are not sure if the animal fell out of a livestock trailer or if the calf was hit by a car.
A veterinarian from Marysville assisted the State Patrol.
