Pair of serious injury accidents in Logan County

The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol responded to a pair of serious injury accidents in Logan County Wednesday.

Troopers were sent to a one-vehicle rollover wreck near Huntsville on County Road 39 between Township Road 100 and Township Road 108 at 4 p.m.

Troopers report that Lora Moore, 46, of Russells Point, was driving a ’97 Nissan Maxima northeast bound on 39 when she went off the right side of the road, overcorrected, and went off the left side of the roadway.

The vehicle then struck a utility pole, overturned, and hit a tree.

Passenger, Virginia Hutchins, 51, of Russells Point, was airlifted from the scene by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.

Moore was not injured and was cited for failure to control.

Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts.

The Nissan sustained disabling damage.

The vehicle brought down power lines.

DP&L, Huntsville Fire and EMS, and a BMRT squad assisted at the scene.

Three people were injured in a T-Bone collision southwest of Bellefontaine at the intersection of County Road 43 and Township Road 198 around 6:40 p.m.

Troopers report that Robert Zedeker, 28, of Bellefontaine, was operating an ’07 Honda Civic southwest bound on CR 198 when he failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a southeast bound ’06 Chrysler Pacifica on CR 43 driven by Angela Schmiesing, 37, of DeGraff.

The Pacifica went off the right side of the road and struck a road sign.

The Civic went off the left side of the roadway and hit a stop sign.

Schmiesing was taken by MedFlight to OSU Medical Center.

A passenger in Schmiesing‘s car, Cynthia Welch, 55, of Sidney, was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital with minor injuries by Macochee Joint Ambulance District.

Zedeker sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Everyone was wearing their seatbelts.

Zedeker was cited for not obeying a traffic control device.

The Pacific sustained disabling damage.

The West Liberty Fire Department, Macochee Joint Ambulance District, and Bellefontaine Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.

Both accidents remain under investigation.
