A city woman was arrested after she was caught shoplifting at Kroger, 2129 South Main Street, Bellefontaine, Tuesday afternoon around 3:15.
Shirley Conner (pictured), 38, of 547 East Columbus Avenue, Apt. 22, was shopping in a motorized cart. Store personnel saw her place multiple items in her purse.
After Conner paid for a loaf of bread in a self-checkout lane, the store manager and an officer from the Bellefontaine Police Department confronted her near the exit.
Conner then removed four DVDs, two candles, two packages of boxer underwear, and a bottle of hand soap from her purse. She also removed three magazines from under her clothing.
Conner was charged with theft and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
The stolen items had a combined value of $112.38.
