Benjamin Logan celebrates Math Awareness Day at Ohio Northern

In 1986, President Ronald Reagan, citing the importance of math to the progress of our economy and society, created Mathematics Awareness Week. In the following years, Mathematics Awareness Week has grown to become Mathematics Awareness Month in April.

During Mathematics Awareness Month, Ohio Northern University sponsors High School Math Awareness Day. This year’s event was held on Tuesday.

Benjamin Logan sophomores Caitlyn Baird, Jenna Hardin, Joshua Hill, and Logan McPherson went to ONU for the full-day program of math activities.

The students attended three math sessions. The topics included careers in math, probability, statistics, and number theory. Between these sessions, the students enjoyed lunch with ONU math majors and faculty followed by a tour of the campus.
