The Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Board of Education approved two satellite contracts Wednesday.
The board approved contracts with Marysville and Riverside. The career center will be moving the pre-engineering program from the main campus to Marysville. The district also picked up business programs and the agricultural science program at Riverside.
The board of education approved reductions in force. Due to decreased enrollment positions in masonry, manufacturing engineering, and the Marysville High School construction trades will see reductions in time. Masonry teacher Terry Hedges and manufacturing engineering teacher Craig Bales will see contract reductions by 1/4 time. Marysville High School construction trades teacher Benjamin Ludlow will be laid-off and his contract suspended.
Superintendent Jeff Price comments on contracts and reductions.
Part-time practical nursing instructor Kelly Fark resigned because of personal reasons.
The career center has received its audit for the 2011-2012 school year. The school received an unqualified financial statement opinion. This means the district received a clean audit. The audit is available for viewing at the State Auditor's website.
Treasurer Eric Adelsberger discusses the Audit.
The board awarded a contract to Neff Paving & Concrete worth $32,350 to pave the bus parking lot.
The board recognized the April Students of the Month. Damon Devine of Indian Lake and Bryanna Messner of Graham were honored. Damon is an Information Technology II student and Bryanna is a Health Technology II student.
