Ohio Hi-Point Career Center’s Aviation students soared to the top in the 2013 Sinclair Tech Prep Showcase competition after the junior and senior teams placed first.

Ohio Hi-Point’s students competed in the Transportation-Aviation Occupations division of the Showcase. The students were challenged to identify a problem related to aviation and create a project consisting of research, work-based learning, technical skills, and presentation skills.
The senior aviation team earned first place for a project titled “Small Aerial Surveillance Aircraft”. The team consisted of Zach Holbrook (Graham), Zach Titus (Bellefontaine), and Jacob Yanscik (Marysville).
Ohio Hi-Point had an additional senior team that placed second. The runner-up project was titled “Private Hybrid Airships”. David Tolley (Graham), Kelsie Warner (Graham), and Nate Dove (Urbana) made up the team.
Ohio Hi-Point’s junior team also took home first place for a project titled “B-17 Restoration- The Riveteers”. The team consisted of Chase Abbey (Urbana), Chris Buschur (West Liberty-Salem), and Luke Hawke (Graham).
The Showcase took place at Sinclair Community College earlier this month.
