Bryant, Dye set to represent Indian Lake at Buckeye Girls State

Two girls will be representing Indian Lake High School at Buckeye Girls State this summer at Mt. Union in Alliance.

April Bryant (pictured left), daughter of Shawn and Kristy Jakeway of   Lakeview, and Haley Dye (pictured right), daughter of Robert and Gayle Dye of Huntsville, will represent Indian Lake.

The alternates are Megan Bingaman, daughter of Charles and Rhonda Bingaman, and Kenzi Bailey, daughter of Misti Bailey.

Participants must be juniors in high school interested in government and current events and have an above average scholastic standing. Candidates must also demonstrate high moral character, possess strong leadership skills, and have a desire for learning.

The girls will learn about the duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of good citizenship.

Buckeye Girls State is sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary of Ohio. It is locally sponsored by the Huntsville Indian Lake Lions, Doyle Miller Amvets Post 39, and the Charles Collins Ladies Auxiliary Post 381.
