City house fire quickly contained

The Bellefontaine Fire Department quickly contained a structure fire that was discovered by a neighbor Thursday night around 9:30.

Firefighters responded to a duplex at 528 North Madriver Street.

Assistant Chief T.J. Weikart said the fire started in a fuse box.

The blaze damaged the back porch along with the fuse box and breaker box.

No one was injured and the fire caused about $1,000 worth of damage.

Jason James and Teresa Day are the residents.

Fire crews were on scene for about 90 minutes.

One off-duty shift was called in to provide station coverage.
